The first day in Kanazawa was perfect. It was sunny and warm without a single cloud in the sky. The second day, however, it was cloudy and cooler. We didn’t mind since it wasn’t raining and the sakura was still as pretty as ever. (more…)

I escaped to Japan last week. I was itching to travel and since my friends were planning a trip there, I saw it as a perfect opportunity to get up and go with them. Coincidentally, it was also cherry blossom season so I was extra excited since I have never seen them in person. (more…)

Breakfast pastries

On the second day, a group of us met up at AMU Plaza in Hakata Station around 9:00AM.  We went to the food section on the first floor of the station where they had a lot of stands selling snacks nicely packaged for omiyage.  There were also food stations selling hot food to go.  These stations reminded me of the food section of Shirokiya in Honolulu.  That morning I just wanted pastries so I went to the coffee shop, selected a brioche and a pastry with chicken inside and ordered a black coffee.  (more…)
