I have been trying to set aside time on Sundays to meal prep for the rest of the week. I find that if I don’t cook before the week starts, I get sidetracked and end up getting take-out or something unhealthy because I usually work out after work and by the time I shower, it’s late and I’m hungry and don’t want to spend a lot of time cooking. I wanted to make something healthy this week and thought about making meatballs. I found a recipe online from Martha Stewart’s website featuring Jessica Alba’s turkey meatball recipe. It looked really good and I was sold on the short list of ingredients.
Lately, I have been seeing brussels sprouts everywhere on menus. Not so much in Hawaii, but more so on the mainland. I don’t really have any memories eating brussels sprouts growing up, since it is non-existent in Chinese cooking, but I always thought they looked like cute little cabbages. I didn’t know much about brussels sprouts except that kids all across America hated this vegetable. (more…)
Happy New Year! It is 2015! I am really looking forward to this year. Last year was really rough emotionally for me. I went through a sudden, unexpected, and painful breakup with someone I truly adored and fell in love with. It is so hard and I’m sure a lot of people have experienced something like that in their lifetime. It was like the rug was pulled from under me and I am still slowly trying to regain my footing. So with the new year, I wanted to start with a clean slate and I’m focusing on myself. I’m going to travel to new places, learn new skills, get rid of clutter, drink more water, and be more focused on eating better. (more…)
